One of Britain’s best-known and most respected gardening and natural history experts, Prof. Stefan Buczacki, is coming to speak in Norton St Philip and Frome at the end of June.
He spent 12 unbroken years on Radio 4’s ‘Gardeners’ Question Time’, has made over 1,000 television appearances and is a prolific author, having written nearly 60 books. His latest book, ‘Earth to Earth’: A Natural History of Churchyards, was published earlier this year. It describes the history of churchyards, their place in the landscape and uncovers the plants and animals which thrive among the headstones.
Stefan is speaking on two consecutive evenings at the end of June:
Tuesday 26th 7.00pm for 7.30pm at St Philip and St James Church, Norton St Philip: ‘Churchyards, Churchill and Chat.’
Wednesday 27th 7.00pm for 7.30pm at Holy Trinity Church, Frome: ‘Graveyards and Gardening’
Each evening will offer an informal opportunity to engage with Stefan, to present questions and to hear about the background of his latest books. A glass of wine/nibbles will be provided and Stefan will be signing copies of his new book.
Entry is free (with a suggested donation of £5/head to cover expenses). Any profits will go towards supporting the work of A Rocha UK, a Christian charity working for the protection and restoration of the natural world.
The evening is a HOPE Frome & Villages event. See www.hopefromeand villages.uk
