ACTIVE and In Touch, the Frome-based charity which seeks to address loneliness and support people who feel isolated in Frome and the local villages, is now looking to increase its number of trustees.
In 2022, A&IT was recognised by the Queen for the work it had undertaken since its inception in 2011, and especially for the way it had “stepped up” and responded both to greater need and the changed situation which had been brought about as the result of Covid19. Thus, volunteers and trustees are now proud to be able to wear the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service badge, the equivalent to a group MBE.
Trustees in the photo, taken immediately prior to a recent extraordinary trustees’ meeting, demonstrate that work is interspersed with fun and relaxed interludes. Would you like to put your name forward to join this group of trustees? If so, or if you would like to hear more about the work of the charity, please visit the A&IT office, based in the Town Hall and arrange to talk to the chair of trustees or other members. Or you can make contact via enquiries@activeandintouch.org.
Your reaching out to A&IT will be greatly appreciated and it could be the first step towards joining a committed group, which is helping to make lives better for so many people within the local community.
