‘Creatures of Deep Space’, a collection of local art, music and fire, will be staged at The Wheatsheaves in Frome, on Saturday 28th November, raising money for charity.
The project is a collaboration between Deep Space Records UK, Mind TWS, Mindline Somerset and Somerset Suicide Bereavement Support Service.
Deep Space Records UK is a drum and bass record label created in the summer of 2013 at Glastonbury Festival, with a well balanced team of DJs, producers, a designer, film maker and promoters.
They say, “Still in our relative infancy, our focus is on showcasing talented DJs and producers in the monthly podcast and hosting nights at festivals and clubs.
“Our five members use the label as a platform to promote promising new artists and to educate music lovers in the ways of the sometimes misunderstood drum and bass music scene.
“A strong emphasis is placed on quality and diversity in the music we play to create a vibrant and friendly atmosphere for the audience or ravers. Deep Space or DSUK has been using drum and bass music to bring people together for the last two years. We intend to proceed for many years helping, educating and inspiring the population along the way.”
For the event in Frome, local artists are lending and donating their work to be displayed in and around The Wheatsheaves from midday. Fire performers will be displaying their skills when the sun sets including fire poi and fire staff. Deep Space Records UK will be behind the decks from 8.00pm until close at 2.00am, spinning some feel good beats from the electronic music genre.
Tickets are available on the door. No advanced tickets will be sold and all door takings are being donated to Mind TWS to support Mindline Somerset and Somerset Suicide Bereavement Support Service. Tickets are £3 before 11pm and £5 after 11pm.
