THE Avanti Park Parent, Teacher and Friends Association (PFTA) is holding its first public event, with a Summer Fair taking place on Saturday 2 July, 11am-3pm.
The registered charity was set-up during the pandemic and fundraising activities have been extremely limited until this year.
“It’s really exciting to be able to welcome both our school and the local community to our first Summer Fair. Fundraising is so important for any parent organisation – but especially ours,” explains Jennifer Connor, secretary for the charity. “As a new charity, we don’t have large legacy funds to pull from. Dozens of us have come together to create a truly memorable event.”
Avanti Park PTFA members have created a day packed full of activities suitable for primary aged children all the way up to Year 8. From family workshops, crafts, and a jumble sale to live performances, market stalls, and games – there is something for everyone, including food and homemade bakes.
“We’ve got over a dozen fantastic market stalls and some of our raffle prizes are worth upwards of £200,” adds Rose Hiron-Grimes, trustee and board member. “The jumble sale promises to be popular too, as that’s something families have missed in recent years.”
All the money raised will go towards activities, facilities and equipment needed for the children of the school. The Avanti Park PTFA Summer Fair takes place on Saturday 2 July, 11am-3pm on Park Road in Frome and entry is free.
