FANS of the Great British Bake-Off may remember 2012 finalist Brendan Lynch and his elaborate, French-inspired creations.
What they may not know is that Brendan is also a keen and accomplished gardener – and that he lives in Frome.
For the first time since moving to the town in 2015 Brendan will be opening his half-acre garden as part of the Frome Festival’s ‘Hidden Gardens’ event.
The organisers report, “Visitors can view the garden and enjoy tea and cakes on Friday 9th and Saturday 10th July. Brendan has also prepared around 300 plants for sale, all generated from the garden.
Entry is strictly by Hidden Gardens programme. This costs £5 and gives access to 33 gardens including at least three close to Brendan’s garden. The programme is available from the Cheese & Grain box office, Frome Information Centre in the Black Swan, and several other venues in town. For details go to: www.fromefestival.co.uk. Proceeds from the sale of refreshments and plants will go to the upgrade of Egford Lane Park.”
