The Frome branch of Barclays Bank will be holding a book sale throughout the school summer holidays. Books can be purchased in store for £1 each, with all proceeds going to Frome-based charity We Hear You (formerly Positive Action on Cancer).
Barclays Bank will be matching the amount donated by the public at the book sale, once the total hits the £100 mark, Barclay’s head office will double the amount raised, which will help greatly to increase the amount given to WHY.
Sara Jane Monger who is running the event says, “We are excited to be supporting WHY; they are a very local charity, just a couple of doors away from us! WHY helps the local community by offering emotional support to anyone who is affected by cancer directly or indirectly, they know that cancer can turn people’s lives upside down and that it’s not easy to talk to the people closest to them.”
Barclay’s Bank are appealing for donations of good quality books to help make the book sale as big a success as possible. To donate books please take them in to the branch in Frome on Stony Street.
