IT’S almost time for Beckington School Scarecrow Trail and it promises to be a fun-filled event for all the family.
This is the first scarecrow trail organised by the school’s parent/staff association which will take place from the 22nd October until 2nd November. The theme of the trail is Roald Dahl characters from his children’s books, in honour of his 100th year.
There will be two prizes for the first two drawn out trail sheets, who correctly identify all the scarecrows – each will win a set of Roald Dahl children’s books. There will also be a prize for the best scarecrow – as voted for by those completing the trail.
There will be 25 different scarecrows in locations around the village of Beckington, with the trail allowing people the opportunity to wander the picturesque village.
Trail sheets will be sold in advance from the school and during half-term week from Mes Amis in Beckington at a cost of £3 per sheet. There will also be a special launch event on the 22nd October, when people will be able to wander the trail and enjoy a coffee and cake.
The trail is part of a series of events to raise money to buy new and exciting play equipment for the school after all the previous playground equipment had to be removed due to rotting.
