REHEARSALS are well under way for the start of a mini-festival of chamber music which has been organized by Frome pianist and coach, Liz Kozlowski, to accompany the Outside Insight art exhibition at the Silk Mill.
The inaugural concert opened with a special programme by women composers, followed by a Sunday teatime concert.
Liz says, “On Wednesday 27th September, virtuoso cellist Emily Burridge joins us to play a Bach cello suite together with hypnotic compositions from her album ‘Out of the Blue’ and on Thursday 28th, Frome’s own jazz pianist John Law will be playing his piano compositions as well as Bach’s iconic Goldberg Variations, animated by Frome-based international graphic artist David Daniels.
“Friday 29th September offers a rare chance to hear award-winning baritone and rising opera star James Newby sing English art songs coupled with an Elgar piano quintet. This will be followed by ‘after-dinner’ Carnivalesque piano duets with Stephen Marquiss and Liz Kozlowski on Saturday 30th and a teatime concert by early music specialists Musicke in the Ayre on Sunday 1st October.
