LOCAL MP, David Warburton, Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Department for International Development, visited Frome College on 17th May, to meet with sixth form students over issues surrounding the environment and climate change.
The college says, “Throughout the hour-long meeting, students were able to ask questions over their concerns that internationally, governments should be doing more to solve the issues. David listened carefully to the group who explained in depth how worried they are about the future and the apparent speed at which the environment has been damaged – problems that their generation have inherited.”
The MP said, “It was a real pleasure to talk with such an astonishingly engaged and insightful group of sixth formers at Frome College. I must say, it is also reassuring to know that the future is in such safe hands, given their passion and care for our environment. I learnt a lot and I’ve got a lot to take back to Westminster!”
