The Fox and Hounds, Tytherington, will be holding their second Greek Night, a Cypriot Meze including a large selection of Eastern Mediterranean dishes, with influences from Turkey and Syria on 14th August.
This will include a variety of different foods and flavours, from home baked breads and dips including Humous and Babaghanoush, grilled meat and fish, Moussaka and Stifado, to fresh fruit platters and Greek desserts.
Adam and Michelle are the landlords of the Fox and Hounds, and part of Adam’s family is Greek Cypriot. The culture and the food has featured strongly in his upbringing, and the motivation behind putting on a Greek night came from Adam and Michelle’s recent family trip to Southern Cyprus.
Adam said, “The Fox and Hounds is a family run pub with a welcoming and unique atmosphere. Our Greek Nights are an extension of this, bringing a little bit of our background into what we do. Our first Greek Night in June was a great success; we had great fun and fantastic feedback, which is why we decided to put on another one.
“My mum has just returned from Cyprus with Ouzo and Turkish Delights ready for 14th August, and in true Greek family style, we will be working together in the kitchen – her doing it her way and me doing it the right way!”
The Fox and Hounds are taking bookings both in person and by phone on 01373 473902. The last Greek night was full, so it’s worth booking ahead.
