Volunteers from Frome are calling for entries in their pet photo competition in aid of Bath Cats and Dogs Home, as they search for the town’s most photogenic animals.
The pet photo competition is being run throughout December and has been organised by the home’s Frome volunteer group.
Organiser Sue Willis says, “We want to raise money to help the home get through the winter. Keeping the animals warm and safe when the temperatures drops can be much more expensive.
“As Frome residents ourselves we really want to get the community involved as we know how much people here love their pets. We can’t wait to see all the photos displayed in the charity shop window!”
The five categories are Best Pet Selfie, Best Festive Photo, Best Friend Photo (you and your pet), Cutest Photo and Funniest Photo. It’s just £1.50 to enter each picture and all the proceeds go to the home. The winner of each category will receive a pet hamper and then be entered in to the ‘winners’ category to find the overall pet photo star of Frome!
The photo that comes out on top will be made in to a photo canvas for the winner to keep.
To enter go online to www.bcdh.org.uk/fromephoto or pop into the shop on Stony Street with your photo. The deadline for entries is Sunday 11th December.
Rachel Jones, head of fundraising at Bath Cats and Dogs Home says, “Although called Bath Cats and Dogs Home, many people don’t realise that we cover an area of 650 square miles, which includes Frome.
“We take in many unwanted animals from the Frome area but happily many of the animals we have cared for have been adopted by Frome residents too. We can’t wait to see the entries and are so thankful to Sue and the Frome volunteer group for organising this fantastic competition!”
