FROME College will welcome prospective families to their Open Evening on Thursday 21st September, and their Open Morning on Thursday 26th September.
“We look forward to meeting your son or daughter,” said Principal Emma Reynold. “If you are not able to attend either of these events please call us on 01373 465353 to arrange a time during college hours for a tour and to meet myself, students and senior staff.
“At Frome College our vision is simple – great teaching combined with a strong focus on students’ aspirations, achievement and personal development. Our vision means great outcomes and life chances for our young people. Underpinning everything we do is a respect for all students and their parents, a full commitment to professionalism and a well ordered and caring school community.
“At Frome College our curriculum is designed to ensure that all students achieve to the very best of their ability. Lessons are tailored to meet the needs of all learners and are engaging, fast paced and fun. We encourage debate, discussion and questions for our teachers. Students are taught skills and strategies to help them become effective, independent, resilient learners which prepares them for the different stages of school life and beyond.
“Our House system organises our young people into five learning and support communities; each led by an experienced Head of House (HoH) who ensure everyone settles into college life well and has the support and care they deserve. Our welfare team work closely with students and families to provide swift and effective intervention when needed.
“Look out for our termly Newsletter and weekly Bulletins on our website, and regular articles in the press to see the many extracurricular and wider opportunities available. You will see that Frome College is a richly resourced and stimulating place in which to work, learn and achieve.
“We pride ourselves on the additional opportunities we provide for students; learning inside the classroom is the key to success but we also believe that so much more can be learnt beyond the classroom. A quote from Ofsted sums this up perfectly describing an ‘extremely wide range of extracurricular activities and after-school clubs, which make highly effective use of the theatre and other facilities on the school site, as well as in the community. All activities are very well attended and highly valued by students. Many of these also show the very strong relationships the school has with many businesses and organisations within Frome – it is very much at the heart of the community.
“Our students achieve great exam results and leave us successful, ambitious and confident young people, who are equipped with the skills and attributes needed to lead full, happy and successful lives. Essential to our success at Frome College is the culture of hard work, commitment and discipline with learning firmly placed at the heart of everything we do. We have a strong and committed team of staff who work closely with students to support in developing their interests, and aspirations to achieve their potential.
“We all look forward to welcoming your family to our school. We strongly believe in achieving success together and encourage all of our parents to maintain regular contact with the college so that everyone understands and shares the same aims. Together we can ensure that your son or daughter gets the best possible start to an excellent and fulfilling adult life. At Frome College we fully understand the trust placed in us by parents and students who choose our school and we trust that you and your child will wish to be part of the success story which is Frome College.”
