On Friday 6th July, 23 Bath St are kicking off the Frome Festival in style, featuring a stunning lineup and mixed bag of acoustic music, followed by The Frome Festival Funk Collectives ‘Funk & Soul Club’.
The venue reports, “Starting the show off at 8 pm will be No.1 hit songwriter, straight outta Boston USA, Luke Concannon. Luke is not only known for being one of the people behind Ed Sheeran’s success, but has also been marked as one of the most captivating and entertaining live performers on the scene.
“Joining Luke is the legendary community Samba explosion, Jamma de Samba. This collective of local lovelies is amazing! They’ll be providing the town with the kind of festival atmosphere you’d expect at an opening event. Get ready to party.
“Ending the acoustic lineup in style is Fraser Anderson, one of the West’s finest songwriter/performers. Fraser has toured with the likes of Joan Armatrading and Chuck Berry. After this simply incredible lineup, it’s over to an evening of Funk and Soul with The Frome Festival Funk Collective. Full show tickets are £10. Funk & Soul Club tickets are £5. “Every Sunday is Sunday Funday at 23 Bath St, but Sunday 8th July is a little different. 23 Bath St’s invited DJs and their families will take over their stage for free. It will be an eclectic and exciting lineup filled to the brim with local talent. Expect to hear anything from House to Disco, Chart to Funk, Reggae to Soul and so much more! “Friday 13th July, unlucky for some, but not for Frome! The Pull Up – An evening of South-West made Hip-Hop, Drum and Bass, Grime and Jungle featuring Alien Jakes return to the stage after their recent release ‘The Arrival’. Alien Jakes aka producer Tao White and lyricist XJX, create exhilarating live performances merging Hip Hop, Grime and Trap. Also on the bill is South-West Drum and Bass producer Arkive. WOMAD Festival resident DJ and serious globe-trotter, Indian Man, mixing Electronica and Old Skool Bhangra with Garage and Hip Hop. Representing the TAF Crew, South-West Hip-Hop MC, Finn Mcveigh returns performing his latest releases with a live band. “On Tuesday 17th July, Blues & Rock Jam Club return for their monthly residency at 23 Bath St. This is a live jam session that’ll suit versatile musicians who are more interested in experimentation and collaboration rather than sticking to the prescribed set list of covers. Original Blues and Rock is encouraged within a framework of more familiar numbers designed to provide a platform on which musicians can build, explore and diversify.
