A SPECIAL gig in memory of Frome musician, Griff Daniels, raised £6,000 for local charities.
‘Griff’s Big Night Out’ was organised by friends and family of Griff who died last year, who wanted to celebrate the musical world that Griff was a part of and raise money for charity.
The evening raised £6,000 which will be shared by Dorothy House, Macmillan nurses, We Hear You and Cancer Active.
Griff’s wife Cathy said, “About 600 people attended the evening which was packed to the rafters. It was an emotional but fun- filled evening with lots of dancing and fantastic performances by all the musicians.
“Myself, Roxy and Max want to thank everyone who helped organise and play at the event. It was everything we hoped for and more. Thanks also to the Cheese and Grain for their kindness and generosity and all the special friends and family who supported us to put this on. We were all inspired by Griff and it felt like he was there in spirit. He would have absolutely loved it!”
Photos of the night can be seen at chriscooperphotography.co.uk/griff and any sales from these will go the charities.
