It’s never too early to think about the festivities and Frome Town Council have a whole host of activities that you can get involved with in the run up to Christmas.
The annual Light the Night Christmas event is returning on Friday 29th November; the whole town will come together to celebrate the Christmas lights switch on following the spectacular lantern procession. The evening will also feature stalls selling festive food and drinks, there will be carol singing, Father Christmas will have his grotto on the Market Cross and the lights will be switched on from the balcony at The George.
Would you like to build your own lantern and join in the procession? Several workshops have been organised by Frome lanterns, taking place on the following dates:
• Saturday 26th October, Trinity Church Hall 10am-12.30pm and 1.30-4pm;
• Saturday 2nd November, Frome Library 10am-12pm;
• Thursday 7th November, The Welsh Mill Hub 4pm -7pm;
• Sunday 17th November, 10am-12.30pm and 1.30pm- 4pm The Welsh Mill Hub.
• The final workshop will take place on Wednesday 26th November, 4pm-7pm at the Town Hall to add the finishing touches to the wonderful lanterns.
Could you help on the evening? Frome Town Council is looking for volunteers to help with various roles such as helping to set up stalls, handing out carol sheets to making sure people know what’s happening and where to go.
