Drum It Up is a not-for-profit educational organisation based in Frome and run by Tanya Sherriff and Katie Harris.
They said, “We believe passionately in the powerful effects that drumming, percussion and music can have in terms of positive change and growth on individuals, groups and on a community level.
“Drum It Up have teamed up with Caroline Radcliffe, a well known local singing leader and musician, for a special one day harmony singing and music workshop. Caroline is well known for her engaging teaching style, her beautiful songs and arrangements and her superb voice in hugely popular local band Three Corners.
“During the day we will be experimenting with drums and percussion as a way of getting to know each other and to create a safe space; we’ll learn various songs in harmony and fit them into a musical accompaniment from professional musician Shannon Harris, who is the keyboard player for Amy McDonald and Lilly Allen.”
Tanya and Katie will be supplying a groove with drums and percussion singers and musicians will come together to make beautiful sounds. It promises to be an energising and uplifting day.
There are still places left for Saturday 21st March 9.30am – 4.30pm at the Masonic Hall, 18 North Parade, Frome and it costs only £20 as the course is part funded by Somerset Skills and Learning. Please ring Tanya 07941 248621 or Caroline 01373 474200 to book your place.
