THIS year’s Poppy Appeal launches next week and organisers hope people will be as generous as ever – whether it be buying a poppy or volunteering to help with collections.
The appeal begins on Saturday 29th October and finishes with the Remembrance Sunday service outside the Memorial Theatre at 11am on 13th November.
Maggy Daniell, Poppy Appeal organiser for Frome and district said, “Last year Frome and surrounding areas collected over £31,000, a great total from a wonderful team of collectors and back-room helpers. We hope to equal or surpass it this year.
“If you have an hour or two to spare this November, please consider joining the community team. We mostly collect at the big stores, and new helpers are always welcome; as a national institution well supported by the public it is a lovely charity to fundraise for.”
