A FROME artist currently has his porcelain work on display in Frome and Clifton.
Paul Payne, who makes lightshades and lanterns from porcelain, was recently commissioned to make ‘porcelain labels’ for lighting in The Artisan pub and three porcelain lion masks for a Christmas window display in a jewellers in Clifton.
Paul said, “I am delighted to say The Artisan pub, here in Frome, has a new range of ‘porcelain labels’ I made to go around their retro ‘vintage’-style light bulbs. There are seven different designs, some with lettering or an image of the building.
“Plus a Clifton jeweller, ‘Stephen Grey-Harris, has for his Christmas window display three back-lit lion masks. Made within earshot of the sounds of the lions of Longleat, these porcelain masks glow with red details and have a golden crown.”
Paul’s career started nearly 30 years ago in a workshop at Black Swan Arts. Find out more about Paul’s work online at www.porcelainlights.co.uk
