MEMBERS of the Rotary Club of Frome recently presented a cheque of £1,000 to Focus Frome who offer a counselling service in town for adults, young people and children.
Focus Counselling started in Bath over 20 years ago and opened a base here in Frome in 2019. The Frome service is led by practice manager, Lucia Chadwick. Their premises is based on the Church Steps in Frome, where Lucia and her team provide counselling services at affordable prices.
A spokesperson for Frome Rotary said, “Rotary has provided funds to Focus Counselling as an aid to subsidising the service, particularly to children and young adults. This payment is part of Rotary’s continuing help for this much needed service, the demand for which has grown substantially through and beyond the Covid epidemic.
“Focus is a safe place providing professional counselling to people in Frome and surrounding areas, helping people worried about their mental health and wellbeing. Acceptance, warmth and compassion are on offer for whatever the client is dealing with, plus whatever professional advice is needed.”
Lucia Chadwick, practice manager for Focus Frome said, “Focus Frome is absolutely delighted to receive this generous donation. Rotary Club of Frome has supported our services since we opened and has helped us offer vital support to people and families in need in Frome and surrounding villages. In these difficult economic times, donations like these are a lifeline for our service.”
Focus Frome is based at St John’s Cottage in the forecourt of St John’s Church. A team of 10 professional person-centred counsellors are available for adults, young people, children, couples and families.
