LOCAL charity Somerset Sight representatives, Holly Sutton and Kate McCallum visited Hayesdown School in Frome to give the children an idea of what it might be like to lose their sight, in a fun and interactive session.
They also told the children about Somerset Sight, which is approaching its centenary and how the charity supports visually impaired people of all ages across the county.
Holly Sutton from Somerset Sight said, “The children were brilliant, they wore blindfolds and had to pass balls with bells in them to each other to give them an idea about how visually impaired people use their hearing. They also wore simulation spectacles and did some colouring. We showed them gadgets and did some activities around Braille and technology.”
