Frome Puppet Theatre company ‘Noisy Oyster’ have returned from ‘Lut Fest’ international puppet festival in Sarajevo with two awards.
Noisy Oyster’s show ‘Plain Bob’ won the award for ‘aesthetic and technical solution of puppets’ with comments such as, ‘Technology small, enchanting puppets in this show, confiscated the hearts of the audience and the jury.’ And a special jury award for ‘The Best Contact with an Audience’ with comments such as, ‘This high-profile actor was able to with a very refined taste to find his way and to achieve a very delicate contact with the audience in direct communication.’
Participating in the festival were companies from Serbia, Estonia, Georgia, Bulgaria, Romania, Slovenia and Bosnia. The standard of the productions was very high, with there being a strong tradition of puppet theatre in Eastern Europe.
‘Plain Bob’ which was performed at last years Frome Festival has toured all over the world including Colombia, Mexico, South Korea, and much of Europe and has previously also won awards at festivals in Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam.
Noisy Oyster’s new show ‘Higgledy Piggledy Pie’ can be seen at the Merlin Theatre as part of the Frome Festival on 9th July.
