West Country folk singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Seth Lakeman announces this extra special Halloween show at the Cheese and Grain as part of his forthcoming autumn tour!
Seth has successfully steered English folk into the mainstream with high-energy performances and a series of best-selling albums, including his current album ‘Word Of Mouth’, which entered the charts at No.20 in February 2014 to rave reviews – ‘his finest in years’ (Evening Standard).
‘Word Of Mouth’ is a defining album, featuring the stories of the real local West Country people who inspired the album. His previous albums include Mercury-nominated ‘Kitty Jay’ and the gold-selling ‘Freedom Fields’ (2006).
Alongside a raft of sold out shows and festival appearances around the UK and Europe, highlights of 2014 include a special performance of King & Country with the BBC Concert Orchestra as part of BBCR2’s D-Day Memorial Concert at the Royal Albert Hall, a Christmas Day TV appearance where Seth was a guest performer on Tim Rice: A Life in Song – a celebration of one of the UK’s greatest musical lyricists, and, of course, his anchoring of a two hour BBCR2 Folk special.
