BRISTOL-based singer/songwriter, Sarah Larkham will be coming to Frome and performing at the Three Swans on Saturday 11th September.
The promoters of the event say, “Sarah Larkham writes intelligently crafted folk songs with a lyrical poetry rarely seen these days, incorporating alt-country and soul sensibilities.
“Sarah’s voice is glorious, inviting comparisons to Stevie Nicks. ‘A vocal dynamo, a true song bird of Americana’ (Blues doodle); ‘An achingly soulful voice’ (Bristol Folk Festival)
“Influences include Leonard Cohen, Johnny Cash, Emmylou Harris, Janis Joplin, Etta James, Joni Mitchell, Nina Simone and Aretha Franklin to name a few.
“Sarah will be performing an intimate candle-lit set in the quirky room upstairs at the Three Swans in King Street, Frome accompanied by a delicious two-course vegetarian* meal homemade by the multi-talented organiser, Sue Harding, who is also an accomplished singer/songwriter when she’s not cooking or teaching English!”
“Songbotherers is all about creating a very special event that not only delights the listener and feasts the senses, but honours the songwriter too. We pay our performers properly and our audiences are there to enjoy, listen and support the songwriting arts. It’s a fabulous feel-good-do-good thing!” says Sue.
