After the huge success of the Glitter and the Jingle Ball last year, the Cheese and Grain has brought back the Drag Night for a summer show with “two fantastic drag queens, Gypsy Divine and Jolene Dover” on Saturday 22nd June.
“Gypsy Divine; ‘If glamour is pain I’m in constant agony!’Gypsy is a Cardiff-based drag queen but has worked all over the Uk for past five years, working residencies, private parties, ladies nights, cabaret bookings, corporate events and theatre. Gypsy has also appeared in TV and film, The BBC 1 drama Casualty as the Jewish transvestite Tuesday Goldstien, BBC Wales documentary A Summer in Wales about Cardiff Mardi Gras and the short film Life’s a Drag as Shirley Diamond.
“Jolene Dover is one of the UK’s favourite drag queens. Her unique style combined with quick humour and observational comedy keeps the audience in the palm of her hands. Witty and slightly off-the-wall, her stage presence will electrify you and her voice will leave you begging for more. In recent years, demand for Jolene has soared, even attracting the attention of TV producers who commissioned a six-part series, “When Jolene Met” which became one of the highest rating shows on the Made TV Network. This was followed by a cameo in the long running BBC One series Casualty. However, she hasn’t let the fame go to her head, and loves to gig across the country at venues large and small, from ladies’ nights to outdoor festivals.
Light entertainment and food will be served at the start of the night. We will play cheesy disco tunes at the end of a night for those that want to stay on and have a boogie.
“Tickets are £15 (+ service charge) including sharing platters.
“Group booking is advised as it is allocated cabaret seating; large tables hold a party of 12 people and small tables hold 8.
“18+ due to adult humour.
“This is a Cheese & Grain charity fundraising event and profits made will go to the Cheese & Grain, a registered charity.”
