WANSTROW Voice and Song Weekend will take place on 10th and 11th October, 10.30am – 4pm.
On Saturday 10th, Songs of Earth and Air will be led by Sheila Macbeth. A day of harmony singing to lift the spirits and celebrate the season. Sheila will teach a variety of songs in folk, gospel and pop styles including some of her own compositions, inspired by her love of nature.
Sheila currently runs three groups with singers aged nine to ninety and is particularly interested in the power of song to heal on a personal and communal level. In recent years, Sheila has started composing her own songs, her song cycle “Bee” was very well received in Gloucestershire in 2014.
On Sunday 11th, Nickomo and Rasullah lead Harmonic Temple. Nickomo has composed many four part harmony chants using texts, prayers and affirmations from different spiritual sources. These are easy to learn.
Nickomo is a composer, arranger, and leader of community choirs and voice groups. Rasullah co-leads Frome Community Choir and People of Note Choir with Nickomo. Their teaching style is clear, enthusiastic and humorous yet they also facilitate deep emotional release and healing.
The workshops will take place at Wanstrow Village Hall near Frome. Tickets cost £25 or £20 for concessions, each day. For more information e-mail rasullah@btinternet.com or call 01749 850 474.
