VETERAN dub band Dreadzone will be playing at Frome’s Cheese and Grain in April after they release their eighth album ‘Dread Times’ this month.
Dreadzone will play at the Cheese and Grain on Saturday 15th April.
Entering an impressive third decade, Dreadzone are one of the most energetic, exciting and powerful live bands to emerge from the post-rave scene.
Since their 1993 inception, they have consistently been releasing underground storms of albums, progressively bettering, refining and perfecting their own unique and inimitable take on dub.
‘Dread Times’ is not only their eighth studio album, but also the third release on their very own Dubwiser label.
Their ‘old skool dread’ sound comes bubbling to the surface on this album, digging deeper into their dub and reggae roots, but still keeping the beats fresh and the textures electronic.
Conscious lyrics, social ills, matters of the heart and mind merge with 21st century dubwise flavours. The album is an eclectic rolling journey that recalls elements from an illustrious 23 year history whilst always looking ahead to the next phase.
Forever blowing audiences away and steadily cementing the best possible reputation in the process, Dreadzone show no signs of slowing down.
Come and experience their stunning new material (plus some old favourites of course) in the only proper way anyone can – by standing in the audience of their live show!
The show starts at 8pm and tickets cost £16.50. To book or for more info go to www.cheeseandgrain.com or call 01373 455420.
