Frome Symphony will be presenting a concert of classical music with a spring-time theme on Sunday 24th April in the Cheese and Grain.
The concert starts with Schumann’s joyful first symphony of which the composer wrote, “I would like the music to suggest the world’s turning green, perhaps with a butterfly hovering in the air, and then to show how everything to do with spring is coming alive.”
The second half warms up with Rossini’s ever-popular William Tell Overture. Then the music traverses across the Atlantic, to enjoy the fresh air, folk tunes and shaker melodies in Aaron Copland’s beautiful ballet score, Appalachian Spring.
The concert on 24th April starts at 7.30pm, and tickets are available from the Cheese and Grain on 01373 455420.
