A flea market and craft fair ten minutes from the centre of Frome is going from strength to strength.
Frome Flea Market & Craft Fair, situated at West Woodlands Showground, was established in 2021 by Peter and Claire Townsend with the aim of providing an affordable event for an ‘independent community of traders’ in a friendly and welcoming environment.
Now with around 150 stalls, the event continues to grow in size and popularity and also boasts a classic car display live music, auction and a wide range of refreshments. There’s even an inflatable tractor assault course.
Peter and Claire hold six events a year on the second Sunday of each month from April to October (excluding September) and their next event is this Sunday, 12th May.
“It’s a really vibrant event where people come to find an elusive treasure in the flea market, purchase a unique handmade item from one of the many artisans, artists and crafts in the craft fair or admiring the display of classic vehicles,” said Claire. “We also have a popular auction organised by Magpie Auctions with around 1,000 lots consisting bygones and general items.
“We’re on a spacious site with both inside and outside stalls and an abundance of parking.
“There are refreshments to suit all tastes, from award-winning pasties, pork rolls, burgers and home-made cakes, to milkshakes and ice cream, all whilst soaking up the atmosphere and listening to the live music!”
