The Frome Toy Library has announced that the service is set to re-open on Tuesday 9th January.
The Toy Library has been running in Frome for many years by a small and dedicated committee of local parents, but now Purple Elephant Productions, the Children’s Festival team, has agreed to take on its running. Funded by Somerset Community Foundation and Frome Town Council, it is hoped that the Toy Library will now be set to go from strength to strength.
Organiser Sue Willis said, “It is an excellent extension of our work. Providing good quality access to play opportunities and experiences has always been at the core of what we do and we are delighted to be able to extend our expertise to the Toy Library.
“It will operate on the same basis as before, but with timed craft and music sessions built into the day. We are starting off back at Portway Church, but hope to be able to extend our reach quite quickly, so please keep an eye out for further information on other play days.
“The Toy Library has a fabulous range of good quality toys to borrow and play with in your own home – membership costs just £10 per year per family – a real bargain! As well as being able to borrow wonderful toys and games, the Tuesday sessions allow you to play together with your pre-school children in a safe and friendly environment, make something crafty, enjoy music together and have a healthy snack. These drop-in sessions are £1 per child and will be run at Portway Church every Tuesday from 9.30am to 3.30pm.”
