Whatever’s on your wish list this Christmas look no further than The Frome Independent on Sunday 7th December to get your Christmas must haves and all those equally necessary luxuries.
Showcasing the best farmers, artisan food producers, and gourmet street food that Somerset and the South West has to offer, December’s market (10.00am – 3.00pm) in the town centre will be bulging at the seams with a veritable feast of food to eat on the hoof, take away and pre-order in preparation for the big day.
You’ll be spoilt for choice for gift ideas as TFI’s handpicked selection of designers, makers and independent traders have been busy making, producing, foraging, and hunting down all manner of products from bike bells to bobble hats, bags to baubles – you’re sure to find something for everyone on your list and a few things to put on your own.
Check out The Frome Independent’s Facebook page for full trader lists and links to websites so that you can pre-order gifts and food to pick up on the day.
To make the day as festive as it is fruitful there’ll be locally sourced choirs in addition to the usual market day music, mulled wine (and of course cider), mince pies and a Christmas themed fancy dress parade for kids and grown up kids who’d like to finally get to be that nativity character that eluded them back in the day!
Judged by wildlife TV presenter Simon King (who will have a stall on The Bridge selling Simon King Wildlife merchandise) the parade will start at 12pm at the frosted village green in the Flea and prizes will be given for the best dressed child, adult and pet!
And if that wasn’t enough to keep the kids happy there’ll be donkey rides – half price for any kids in Christmas fancy dress – Christmas tree decoration making with Doodlebug Club, letter to Santa writing from Frome’s Big Christmas Get Together or some festive screen printing with Happy Inkers all in The Westway.
And who knows maybe there’ll even be the chance of some (fake) snow…
