Internationally-acclaimed artist Lucinda Rogers will be exhibiting a collection of prints and drawings from Frome, London, New York and Marrakech for Somerset Art Weeks in Settlers Stores eclectic clothing boutique on Cheap Street in Frome.
Lucinda was the subject of a previous show at the Rook Lane Chapel and spent two months in Frome in 2017. She chronicled the spaces where Frome’s local community worked in the past and still work today, to record the practical, working history of this industrious town.
The artist works on paper, on the spot directly from life and her subjects range from the old Lamb brewery to wood carving and motor mower repairs. The workroom upstairs at Settlers stores was another subject and now hosts the exhibition of around 15 works.
Lucinda has built an international reputation for dazzling urban landscapes and often hidden interiors.
Zara d’Abo of Settlers Stores said, “We are really excited to host this stunning visual celebration of local artisans and Frome itself for the 25th Anniversary Somerset Art Weeks. Other striking works from around the world chime with our love of travel, which is always at the core of what we design.”
Settlers Stores’ new A/W collection of uniquely chic tweed clothing will be in store – practical luxury that is designed for a life well-travelled.
The show will run until 6th October.
