Yes it’s almost time for April’s instalment of ‘Upright & Indie’ at Frome’s New Venue at The Wheatsheaves.
On Thursday 28th April Toby and Lark will be bringing you three great bands and acts that really stand out from the crowd! They each dare to be Honest, Original and Uncorrupted! This month’s instalment includes – The Brackish, Towers and Silly Horse.
‘The Brackish’ are a Bristol based band, at the core of their music are tight arrangements combined with improvisation, featuring interplay between two distinctive guitar voices. Each tune’s clear conception tells a story – changes of mood and rhythm add a compelling narrative to a vital and visceral sound.
The broad vocabulary of the music – psychedelic, metal, jazz, kraut … – conjures echoes from Steve Reich to Sabbath, Can and Tortoise.
‘Towers’ are a female fronted, alternative Indie band born and bred in Bristol. The Band formed in 2009 when the members were around the age of 15/16 and very quickly started to make their mark on the music scene! The band have played on stages at the Bristol Harbour Festivals and Brisfest. They have played headline gigs at most of Bristol’s best music venues including the Fleece, the Louisiana, the Exchange and the Thunderbolt.
If you like Indie and you like live bands and you want to hear some fresh new bands playing some unique material, then come down and check it out.
