If you would like to see a beautiful wildlife pond in a tranquil garden then make a visit to the Miller’s House, on Saturday 27th May, 11.00am-4.00pm.
This event forms part of Somerset Wildlife Trust’s ‘Wildlife Gardens’ initiative. The Miller’s House is set in a small valley near the fabulous, not to be missed, Nunney Castle.
This atmospheric mill pond provided a way of life in years gone by and now it is a stunning place full of dragon flies and wild flowers.
Wander along the wild paddock at the bottom of the garden next to the river from the leat to Nunney Brook. You will find a perfect paddling spot! On the banks of the river you will see Caroline’s “Butterfly bank”, an amazing ridge covered in wildflowers and grasses.
Afternoon tea will be served on the lawn overlooking the mill pond, enclosed by the beautiful rose-clad garden walls.
