The talented team at Jackdaws are tuning up for their annual ‘Christmas by Candlelight’ concert, which takes place this Friday, 15th December, from 6.30pm in the beautiful Church of St Mary Magdalene at Great Elm, near Frome.
A firm favourite in the festive calendar, the concert promises to be an evening of wonderful music and song. The concert will feature many members of the Jackdaws family, all brought together in this joyful seasonal celebration.
The programme this year includes performances by artistic director, and recent ‘Human of Frome’, Saffron van Zwanenberg who will be joined in song by Bath-based baritone, Ben Knight, too. Jackdaws’ Songbirds will take us around the world and across time zones with their Christmas songs, under the direction of Caroline Radcliffe and the ‘Jack’s’ members (the Jackdaws Music Club for teens) are busy preparing their pieces.
Carol sheets have been printed for everyone to join in with traditional Christmas carols, to raise the festive mood, as the programme also includes some favourites for all to sing. Enjoy some seasonal refreshments of mulled wine and mince pies in the interval.
Last year’s concert was a sell-out, so be sure to book early for this festive musical treat! Tickets cost £12 in advance, £15 on the door (subject to availability), and are available from Jackdaws on 01373 812383 or email music@jackdaws.org
